Seems as though everyone is obsessed with making money from blogging. Lets be honest here – most people who write a blog – do not make any money from it! Nor will they ever do so!
If you think you are going to make money blogging, you better be clear exactly how you are going to do so before getting stuck in. What are you going to write about is your first decision to make, and if you are basing your decision on whether or not there is any money in the subject rather than whether or not you have any knowledge of the subject – this will be your first obstacle. Try getting up every morning and writing a 400 word article about something you have no knowledge of, or interest in – see how long that lasts.
So – if you want to make money from your blog – you need to make sure that:
- There is money in the subject
- You will be able to attract traffic
- You know what the hell you are talking about and
- There is an endless supply of topics to discuss
So – now you have a subject that fits all these categories – you are good to go. Time to set up your blog and set the world on fire. Setting up a blog is simple. Making it look pretty is simple. But – and this is a Big But – attracting money-making traffic is a bastard unless you can satisfy at least 1,3 and 4, because of you cannot – you will never satisfy number 2. Trust me – it is not that easy to make money with a blog.
